Take a look around everyone. I would think if Audi is publicly posting that it is NOT coming to the US, then it's probably not coming. This market is not good enough for the RS cars anymore. There decision, not ours. I guess we'll all have to start driving Mercedes and BMWs to get the big power.

Of course they "should" and the RS4 is the competitor. But Audi, by not bringing the new RS models to the U.S., has made their decision not to compete here. I guess their goal is volume rather than smaller volume performance models. Not quite big enough to do both perhaps.

read it again--as well as other articles. They state that there are currently no plans for the US market--- they did not say that it is not coming.
meaning- they have not confirmed that is is not coming; rather, they just haven't committed either way yet.
Typical marketing move- they are leaving the door cracked open.

Also, if you convert the 77,700 Euro price to U.S. Dollars it would be $105K. Even with a discount for the U.S. market it is hard to believe the price would be below $80k. $80k would still be tempting because wheels and basic mods (exhaust, suspension, sway bar, spacers) easily adds $8k plus to the price of an S5.

Anyways, it's not going to be in US. The market for S5 is already small enough to Audi (at least for now).

Audi said the same thing about the RS6 V10 and look where that got us. Yeah no RS6 for us.
The tale of the tape will come in a few months when the new order guide hits in May. We'll know our fate just before the order guide hits.
Seriously is Islandgirl a troll? I've been away from Audiworld, sorry but the way this forum is or was heading...I migrated elsewhere. I just want to talk about the cars!

Question: is anyone uncomfortable buying a $71k car that shares the same platform, interior and similar exterior of a $39k version? Kinda like buying the most expensive house on the block.
