S5 cab CREAKING NOISES??!?!? Please help!
Hi all,
I purchased a CPO S5 cab (30,000 kms, so ~20,000 miles) 3 months ago. Love the car... but lo and behold, 2 days ago I started hearing creaking sounds every so often... generally when making 90 degree turns but also when accelerating fast. The worst part is, it doesn't seem to be coming from any one place (can't tell if it's the front, back, or both).
Has anyone dealt with this and if so, any suggestions before I go give my dealership an earful? This can't be normal or acceptable, right?
Thanks everyone... very frustrating. Has made the car go from a dream ride to pissing me off every time I drive it and hear it every few minutes.

I have recently heard creaks too... maybe at 15000 miles but generally when its cold. Annoys the **** out of me, too... not sure what can be done about it... apparently you and I are in th same boat (er, car...)

Yeah I was wondering if it had to do with the cold...
You guys are saying this is normal? I've never had a card that started creaking in the winter... it's pretty brutal actually. It's not THAT often but it's enough that when it happens it's bothersome enough to kind of put a damper on the whole experience. I don't want to sound TOO whiny, but when you spend that much on a car you kind of don't expect these things, especially when I've never had this issue with other cars. If it's normal, so be it I guess but kind of a bummer to have to listen to that every 2 minutes all winter...

Creakng is not normal. I have a 2010 S5 Cab with 14,000 miles and I don't get any creaking. If it is as prevalent as you describe, it should be an easy fix for your dealer. It is the things that only happen once in a while that are hard to find and then fix. Take it in and discuss it with your service adviser. Also get him/her to ride with you so he/she can hear it/feel it.
