S5 coupe: V8 has a nice, though somewhat muted, rumble. Get the RPMs up or let the engine wind down and you're almost in aural nirvana. Skip the Stasis exhaust if you want a Tiptronic. I personally got a vicious headache after riding in one after about 10 minutes. Less droning with a 6MT, but I think still too much for me.

S5 cabriolet: Supercharged V6 has a bit of the supercharge whine, much more muted exhaust note, and you get the pop/fart on gear changes. An aftermarket exhaust is something to consider if you want to open up the sound a bit more.

A5 coupe: 2.0T is not the best sounding engine. The 3.2 V6 sounds better, even if it isn't quite as punchy off the line.

A5 cabriolet: Not any better, sometimes worse with the top down. Was not impressed (compared to the A5 coupe with either engine) while I did a quick ride in one.

Even without the side blade or with the slight humpy rear, it is definitely not a girly roadster. The new 6 Series cabriolet, on the other hand, has now been moved to the girly column.

It shouldn't matter what anyone else thinks. It is going to be YOUR car and only your opinion should matter. I'm not a fan of verts because of the extra wind noise with the top up but driving with the top down is priceless. If I had a weekend cruise car, it would most likely be a vert(or cab, I prefer vert) since I love having the top down. I had a 2000 Trans Am Ws6 and I have the t-tops off that car more than on. Any chance I got, I would be going without the tops because the weather was nice.

Pick what you want as it will be your car and only your opinion should count.

Definitely don't see many woman owners of the cab. I don't think of it as a girly car at all. Many other convertibles yes, but not the 5.

I don't think the cab is a girl car. I think it has more to do with what you are going to use it for. I like the cab, but bought the coupe because I use mine for a daily driver and didn't want to worry about the soft top parked at the airport or other places.

I think the cabs look cool. I agree with the earlier post that it is just how you set it up (interior color and other things).

Hello all,

I've been driving an S5 Cab for 18 months now....and no one has ever suggested it's girly at all.

But honestly, what do you care what other people think? I bought it because I enjoy driving it. I think the whole premise of the question is silly.
