I have been pretty much set on Phantom Black but the Grey is starting to look pretty good for me.
Any thoughts on how the Grey stands up?
I like the Daytona Grey but that is a special order, I think.

Yes, it is a special order. It is $2,500 additional, but since metallic colors are $500 additional it is really only $2,000. IMO it is worth it. Not only is the color deep and complex, the paint seems to be more durable. I owned an '09 A5 in Brilliant Black and a '10 S5 Cab in Ice Silver prior to my '11 S5 Cab in Daytona Grey and both got rock chips on the front bumper and hood. I haven't had that problem this time around. The salesman told me the Daytona Gray process is different and has several more coats of paint. Maybe that is why.
Even if it isn't true, the color is stunning and sporty, and not one that you see very often.
As I recall, mine took about 5 months from order to delivery.

I've had several black cars and they do show nicks. My wife is driving a black Lexus 430 and we have had to do minor chip repairs. I drive a yellow Mini right now and it shows nothing.
The new S5 Titanium comes In Daytona Grey but there will be very few of those plus the price tag is quite steep.
I keep going back and forth. Guess I just need to load up and pull the trigger.
Thanks much.

Get Daytona. I have Phantom and I have chips all over the place. I drive it daily year round through WI winters. On top of the chips, it just doesn't stay clean for more than 2 hours. Looks awesome clean, but it'll be my last black car.

I have a daytona gray S5 coupe and it is holding up much better than my old brilliant black A4. You may want to check out the 'Special Edition S5' that was announced in October. It is daytona gray and has an Audi exclusive interior as well as a few other bits. Maybe it would come faster? Here is the post discussing the special edition: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho....php?t=2813586

2013 model right?
Pushing the limit on getting a 2012 price wise so this may put me in the dog house for a longer time ;-$
Decisions, decisions.
