BCM2 module, lights, and specific wiring, and coding are required.
As you see on ECS tunings website ETA is MARCH 2010.. So I highly doubt this mod is outdated.. as mentioned in the last post..

"Complete kit to install LED taillights on your B8 A6/S6"
That's a good price, I would need to call Ben @ BBC to see how much he would charge for the VAG-COM programming.

I actually met Ben at Audi in Mission Viejo. He's an Audi technician there.

+ 2 ( thousand bucks )
in another year or two , the vendors will rake in the same bucks from the same guys for the updated " neon-tube " style LED rear lights if they come this generation.
So there will be some B8 owners who spend $2-3 K to impress at most 2-3 ricers at stop lights .

The majority of modern cars with LED lights use the individual bulbs. The tube thing you mention is very exclusive and will take many years, if not a decade to spread and catch on. The OP's lights will look fresh for a long time. The price on the other hand... wow.

The indiv bulb LED look is not fresh- many Asian makes have used them for rear lights for years , in addition to all the aftermkt ricers with their crude round circle of lights inside shapely OEM housings. The Germans were late to the game ( excluding front LEDs)
Everytime I follow an '09 Audi A8 , with it's rectangle of rear indiv glaring LEDs , it just makes me more more impressed with the wavy " lightbar " look of the new BMW 7, coming 5 series and updated 3 series, as well as the incorporation of even nicer ,even higher tech use of that theme in the 2011 A8 and new A1 and I'm sure every Audi that will be introduced from now on , like the A6.
It's the esthetic difference between brush strokes and connect - the - dots artwork.
