They stated that it is normal....that it is a secondary pump to warm the cats up faster. He may make another visit to investigate, maybe something they are working on to decrease or eliminate the hesitation. Im working on other solutions with my friend/tech at audi, i'll keep you guys updated

An update:
Dealer swapped out two coil packs for the fix for my intermittent rough cold idle. Say that 3 times; but seriously I'll chime in about a week from now to see if the problem does not resurface.

S5 morning stall/ hesitation
The brand of premium gasoline does not make any difference. There is a "bug" and Audi needs to resolve the problem.
I am about to do something that Audi does not want owners to do and that's to take it in and leave it until they "FIX IT" They don't want to deal with a "Lemon" scenario that's also why they have stated, "it's not a safety issue" By assuring everyone that it's not a 'safety problem" owners won't RUSH to take their S5 in and tell them you'll pick it up when it's repaired. Texas has a very strong Lemon Law and it allows for 3 attempts without a repair resolution before the "Lemon" process can proceed. I really like the S5, BUT.... I'm sick and tired of the problem in a new $60,000 automobile. (Sorry, but I really need to VENT)
