S5 owners with V1.. Mine is hardwired with concealed display.

I have had both the passport and the V1
Not much difference honestly, but I do love the arrows on the V1 and that alone makes it a winner over the passport.
My V1 falses all the time on the auto distance controllers found mostly on Infinitis -- makes the laser go off. Also tail lights on Chevy trailblazers can make the laser go off on the V1 -- drives me nuts! I have no idea if the Passport would fault that as well as that feature came out after I made the switch to the V1.

That sounds familiar...
I hardwired my V1 but haven't had time to wire up the remote display yet.
Where did you hook up the ground? I ended up finding a nut that fit on a protruding bolt above and behind the fuse box and I tightened it over the bared ground wire. Works great!
Also, what did you use to secure the remote display?

Re:im using the same ground I think...
the display is held on using a plastic velcro-like material that came with the display. the cable running to the display comes out from next to the mmi screen that is a slight eye sore. it fits well in that extra space to the left of the mmi screen. Good luck with yours.
