S5 versus A5 - differences worth the cost?
#11
If you want an exhilarating driving experience that makes you smile everyday and an exclusive car - get the S5. Nothing compares.
BTW, you cannot get the REAR SPORTS DIFFERENTIAL on the A5 - now that SUCKS if you are looking for a fun exhilarating car to drive. Better yet - if you can still get the V8 engine now, just go for it. Nothing beats the rumbling sound of the V8.
If you want a car that gets you from point A to point B - get a 4 cylinder engine. Why not just get a Volkswagen? They have the 2.0 engine as well. After all, you're actually trying to save money by going with the A5 instead of the S5. Save more money - go for the Volkswagen.
If you're really serious, test drive both cars and stomp on the gas. Don't rely on forum discussions. Just go drive it and decide.

I've been on the fence regarding whether or not I should put the extra money into my pending new car purchase and go with the S5 over the A5 and I'm looking for some advice. Other than the white paper data, I've been unable to find a good, comprehensive comparison of the two vehicles since the 2013 facelift changed the S5's engine. Has anyone else been in my situation? If so, how did you decide?
