SD card
I picked up my Avus Silver S-Line A5 this weekend and immediately went out and bought an SD memory card to load up some MP3's. I bought a Sandisk 4G SDHC and converted some of my iTunes tracks to MP3 and loaded them on the card. When I insert the card in the stereo I get a message that says "external source active", however when I select SD from the media menu it says the card is unreadable?
I can play the MP3 tracks from the card on my computer - any idea what I am doing wrong??

SDHC Cards are different than SD cards
As far as I know, the Audi's only read SD cards. Even in laptops/computers/cameras, SDHC requires an SDHC drive slot. I recommend getting a 2 or 4 gig SD card (Sandisk or Lexar).
Also, search the other forums, size/type has been discussed as well previously.

Re: SDHC Cards are different than SD cards
Thanks, I specifically asked the guy at Best Buy (I know, I know, most of them can't tie their shoe laces) - but he told me that a 4G SD card HAD to be SDHC (high capacity). I'll take it back and get a normal SD card and see if that does the trick.

Glad to hear it..
never trust the Best Buy employees. Not even the geek squad people.

2GB is the largest card it can read. MP3 format only...
I was frustrated at first but then went to see a tech. and he did some research and showed it to me in the write up, 2GB card and MP3 files only...

regular SD cards are limited in size...
SDHC 2GB cards should in theory be readable in SD reader. Anything above cannot (HC=high capacity).
Shame though that there are still SD readers out there not being able to read the industry standard SDHC. It's out for 2 years now.
