Seriously Considering '14 S5 CPO
Hello all, LONG time member but I was MIA for many years due to family needs. Joined in '01'ish when I got my first Audi S4, have since sold for an A6 Avant (Family) now looking at an '14 S5 and I just wanted to ask those with them who also have kids, is it doable?
My boys are 6 & 8 and I think they would be fine in the back for short trips around town etc., nothing long like to Tahoe of course. I'm 6'4 and just for fun I sat in the back seat behind the driver, moved the seat until comfortable and it was not bad at all.
Just looking for some honest opinions on having this car with kids as I'm more than excited to get it. More than likely for now I'll keep the A6 Avant unless I find someone local who wants to buy it.
Thanks and glad to be almost back with the S crowd.

Well - kids have a good sense of humor...
… I went through that phase with a variety of Audi's including a TT225hp. Its not pretty - the kids crawling in and out takes it s toll. Having owned three S5's, I can tell you it is a tight fit. If is not a primary car, it will work… an S4 would be better.
Good Luck

Thanks for input but I had to get it
It's not the primary family car. Wife has a Honda Pilot and I will keep my A6 Avant around for now. Most I do with kids is pickup/drop off to school which is about 5 blocks away. For all family hauling it is the Pilot.

TT I can understand as it's much smaller than an S5. As a test I sat behind my sales guy who was in the passenger seat and legroom wise I was completely fine. I think for short drives it will be great. Family car is the Pilot

I recently owned a '15 S5, and all I can say is that it is a fun, beautiful car. I traded for a '17 A4 to get a bit more room. If you aren't totally hung up on the beauty of the coupe and you want a bit more utility, drive a '17 A4. It will be an eye-opener for you. Suffice to say, I don't miss my S5. ;-)

Under the circumstances you describe...
… it sounds like an acceptable compromise. The A4/A5 chassis gives little quarter to folks in the back seat, even if there is a door to access it (as mentioned above). However, the S5 is sublime with one or two in the car…
The only Audi's I have had with acceptable back seat room have been the two A6's. I am 6'3" with long legs, so almost any car that I am driving is a three person car, unless it is for a short trip.
Happy Holidays
