Since the e - brake is electronic, if your battery dies, does that mean your e - brake shuts off?

Hope not as my car has been sitting for over a month and hope the battery won't be too dead to start....

It's an electromechanical parking brake the servo to squeeze the brake is electric, but AFAIK the holding action is mechanical. So if your battery died the e-brake would still be held, but I'd venture you could not release it until the battery is recharged/replaced. (I'll see if I can find out for sure from the Bentley for the A6).

No further info in the Bentley.
