Default Soaking Wet Carpet

You all are going to think I am crazy. This morning i got into my 2012 S5 in my garage. I had a jacket on the passenger side floor. I picked up the jacket to move it to back seat and it was drenched. I felt the carpet and it is soaked. Almost like a puddle. I felt the rear passenger floor and it was soaked even more than the front.

What can possibly cause that??? I have not left the car outside with windows down or sunroof open. Nothing like that. I am completely baffled. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this happening? All the leather seats and inside sides are completely dry. It is like there is a leak somehow that is coming through the floorboards.

Welcome aboard!

Let the dealer deal with stuff like this. Maybe it's something easy like a sunroof drain...

I had a latent defect in a poor seam weld under my sunroof, but more often this situation is resultant of a clogged drain hole/line. As uberwgn cites have your dealer deal with it asap as a warranty item.

Default Have You Been Runing Your Air Conditioner

If you have been running your air conditioner, especially if it has been humid out, you may have a plugged drain line. The a/c unit will produce condensation that should be going down a drain line. If it get plugged, the water will back-up into the passenger seat floor area.

Have you had snow in your area recently? Last year, I found that water from melted snow will pool under and behind the front seats when using the Audi rubber floor mats. This year I bought Weathertech Floor Liners to combat that problem.

Default drain

Agree on the a/c drain, if you have been using the a/c
if after carwash or rain check the drain in the plenum area just below the windshield for water accumulation and getting inside the car thru the a/c inlet, which is also in the passenger side.

The dealership said there is a leak in the windshield. They said the water is coming in through the windshield and down behind the dash to the floorboard. Doesn't make sense to me. I pick it up this week, so I guess we will see.

That's what they first said about mine too, and even replaced the glass, but again it turned out to be a defective weld under the sunroof in my case. Install some rubber floor mats so you'll know immediately without further wetting your carpet - glad I did.
