I read somewhere, that once the "Factory Tires" are replaced on your S5 with a "Z" rated tire Audi will remove the 1st Stage Speed Limiter. The 1st Stage being 136? mph and the 2nd Stage being (I think 156 mph). I tried searching but I didn't see anything. Is there anyone that knows about this or that has this done to their S5.

I purchase my tires through Audi, Y-Rated ( +186mph ) yet I haven't seing the dealer making an effort to remove the speed limiter. Let me know if you find out how is done.

I once did 133mph and I could feel car was just getting ready for action but... electronic limiter kicked in and maintain 132-133mph . I was very impressed on how the car felt above 100mph sort like going on rails, very precise and fit, very capable.. craving for speed and a pushing hard and lineal... progressive from 80 to 132 with superb handling. This cars are autobahn beasts and I have no doubt in my mind that it would go above 155mph if limiter was removed.

I realize that the Euro Audi's are unlimited but I'm in the the Good Ole USA. Our Uncle Sam thinks that's too dangerous for us to go sooo fast.
I think I pay the service guys a visit, I'll get back to yopu guys soon.

Some of you are comparing two different models here. From the 2010 A5/S5 brochure:
* Top track speed for A5 electronically limited to 130 MPH in the U.S. Obey all local speed and traffic laws. † EPA fuel economy estimate not available at the time of printing. ‡ EPA fuel economy estimates. Your mileage will vary. § Top track speed electronically limited to 155 MPH in the U.S. Obey all local speed and traffic laws.
