Default thinking of trading my 09 S5 for a 3.2

i am tired of this gas guzzler.. I spend more time in gas station than at home lately. I drive normal.. didn't even push it at all.. yet my friend's 3.2 is as fast and does 28mpg! gonna get me one and dressed it like an S5. any thoughts guys?

I get up to 34 mpg on the highway in my 3.2. I average 27 mpg in mixed driving which includes lots of stop and go traffic.

Hope that helps!

I really do not worry about MPG myself.. I get about 10-13mph on average in my S5 Cab. Of course that is always driving in dynamic mode and using the supercharger.

For the S5 itself you should be able to get low 20s without pushing the car. However the whole point of an S is to push the car. Otherwise just get a 2.0T and you can chip it to be faster then a 3.2. Or wait a year until the S6T comes out for the S5 coupe.

Just make sure you wount miss the extra power. What options do you have on your S5 and where are you located?

I would highly recommend the A5 3.2 S-Line. I loved mine before I traded it in and felt it had plenty of power. The S-Line looks just as sharp as the S5 IMO, and I actually liked the Y-Spoke wheels as much as my current Double-Spokes.

I wanted a Cab and if it had come in 3.2 I would have been more than happy with that. (Absolutely no complaints with my 3.0T though!)

One, your friend's 3.2 is not as fast as an S5. That's just nonsense. Second, the gas mileage really shouldn't be a surprise. Sounds like all you need/want is an A5 anyway, so I'd go for that. Just don't expect it to have the power of an S5.

I love my 3.2 6 speed. Although not a real fast car but it is better than most and the good gas mileage is a plus.

I drove my friend's 3.2 S-line 6speed manual last nite i can't tell the difference between my S5 and this one, i hear there is some substantial power difference between the two, I just however can't tell. 3.2 does 35mpg highway and it's same vehicle overall except for 2 extra cylinders.. other than that is all same. gonna hunt for a 2009 S-line A5 3.2

I don't see how anybody is getting 35 on the highway with the 3.2. Perhaps if they employ hypermiling techniques, but in normal highway driving you won't get that - especially when taking into account that the trip computer usually reads high.
