Trading in S5 For a Q7

you're soon going to find that having a baby is going to take up more than just a car seat!
I have (Q7)/had (s5) both cars, and based on having 4 children, and the work and time it takes to buckle them in, take them out, able to reach back while in transit, the convenience of a 4 door will absolutely be appreciated over time.
Despite what others say, the 3.6 IS a good engine. From my experience, 280hp is more than enough for a people hauler. It is rock solid.
I agree with some of the thoughts below--- might a Q5 suffice? are you looking at a CPO or new Q7?
