Well I finally have the results on video from my long journey to upgrade the A5 exhaust after my rear end S-Line was hit by a teen texting. Some may recall that I was the first guy to have the AWE Tuning S5 exhaust put on my A5. My black A5 is on their web page. While I loved the power increase and the roar of the engine, the droan at 2.5K RPM was not something I could live with long term for a daily driver. My wife refused to go in it as it was too much for her and for business purposes.
My first attempt to fix the issue was to have a shop put back just the Audi center resonator in hopes that Audi tuned it for the low frequency cabin boom. It helped just a bit but still it droaned. Then I went all the way and had the stock mufflers modified to quad tips and inserted into the AWE system. (Turns out the S5 uses the same muffler but the plugs are replaced with two more tips and the tubing is larger). See photo where the nub is located on the muffler. Since I already have the S-Line, the S5 valence was free with the collision repairs. Here is the sound...turn it up.

I think it is a compromise I can live with. I did enjoy having the A5 run 0 to 60 MPH in mid 5 second range and do miss the quickness off the line the most. This may be a very good and cost effective way to add the look and a bit more sound to the A5.
