So, here's the deal:
I ordered an 2010 3.2 A5 back in September.
Production started last week and my dealer told me yesterday that my car was scheduled to leave Germany on the 19th of October.
The current ETA in Raleigh, NC is November 16th.
Can anyone of you who have already ordered and received their cars tell me more about the following?
- Average time of travel between Germany and the Georgia port
- Average time at US port (for unloading/customs and release)
- Average time of travel between port and dealership in NC
Thanks for your help.

Hi biglexus. I'm in the UK and new to this site but been a member on the A5/S5 OC site for a while now. You have been very fortunate. The current lead time for new A5's in the UK is over five months. I ordered July 17th and am expecting delivery mid-November which is a massive improvement upon the original quoted delivery date of 20th January 2010!

10 to 15 days on the ship.
2 to 4 days in port.
1 to 2 days to you.
So my guess is that you will see the car somewhere between Nov. 2 and Nov. 9th.

When , the moon glows red, and the sky shines black, on forth will come a beast out of the waters, upon it's back will sit a jewel. A jewel man has dreamed of claiming for his own since the beginnings of time. One car, one car to rule them all.
Translation,
3 months from usually the time your car is accepted by factory and given a build date. Right now if you just ordered, it's just in the factory order bank, but has been accepted yet, or "pulled".

Mine was put on a boat October 9th. I should have it by the end of the month hopefully.
This is only the second time I've ordered a car. The first was a Carrera S. The waiting absolutely sucks.
The best was my S8. When I called the dealer to inquire about availability they just happened to have one coming in a week later that a customer had bailed on. And it was optioned perfectly. Now that was instant gratification.
