Why is insurance so high on Audis?

Hi Audi gurus:
With my heart set on a new A5 or S5, I obtained quotes from State Farm for many cars based on 6 months premium policy for one car in household for me (under 40 with 20+ years good driver record)
Audi A5: 1150
BMW M3: 1162
Audi RS4: 1285
BMW 335i 1026
Infiniti G37 Sport: 994
Just for fun:
Ferrari F430: 2458 (ouch!)
Jaguar XKR 1471
I would hate to see what insurance on a new Audi R8 or Lambo would cost me!
The BMW M3 is almost as cheap as the A5 and way superior in power and performance. Makes no sense. I might splurge for the M3 or RS4 or even RS5 if it comes out in near future. I like the Cayman and Boxster but for same price can pretty much get the M3 or RS4 way more car. Porsche way overpriced. Anyways only Porsche that really rocks is GT2, GT3 and 911 Turbo which cost as much as R8 and would rather have R8 or Lambo for same money.
So at this point with such limited supply of the A5 and S5, if this is same case in 1-2 years than would be better to go with BMW or Infiniti for cost savings on insurance and performance. Makes no sense but maybe parts and repairs are more expensive on Audis than BMW? Maybe because A5 and S5 is such limited production would explain this.
I am not in rush but will see if Hoehn in Carlsbad can treat me with respect and let me drive a new A5 coupe. I did test drive the S5 when it came out however it concerns me that Audi is doing away with the fantastic 4.2L V8 engine in the S5 in favor of the twin turbo V6! That sucks if true. Something about V8 power is amazing. So will see. I did see a nice 2007 Audi RS4 for 63k at Miramar Audi but they are such boneheads that I would never buy a car from them. Same for BMW of San Diego they are ****** too. I did have good experience at one time at Hoehn Audi in Carlsbad and Cunningham BMW in El Cajon.
One thing that irks me in general is how rude most car dealerships behave toward potential customers. Have the car dealers lost the art of customer service? It seems so. One would think they would learn to do this well since auto sales are way down with the economy.

is about $1500 a year now up from 1300 thanks to them figuring out the repair costs over time.

living in downtown Chicago is my real issue. I have a $500 deductible and normal coverage (although more than what people below have for coverage) otherwise but its still at $1600 a year for an RS6 or an S5. So living in the burbs must really have significant advantages.
