Why is a loaded new A5 more than a loaded BMW 335i coupe?

In the UK and Germany, Audis have the highest resale value. Why? Maybe because European consumers aren't douchebags concerned with status and are more interested in quality.

http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2007/02/28/038601.html</a

$59,495 fully loaded 335 coupe w/ manual transmission. Try looking at hasselbmw.com, not edmunds and you might get some accurate information.

About the cars they buy, and the market, in general that's why they chose Audi, after looking at BMW and Mercedes, when I purchased my Audi, I looked at all 3, and I realized it was a pretty easy decision, and it had nothing to do with price. The Audi hands down was the best overall to me.

Of all the places I've been in the U.S., LA ranks pretty high on the superficial skill, substance optional, but hey that's part of the culture, because, after all it's hollywood, where business wise image is a good chunk of the game. Then again, I think that's only true to an extent, because, a substantive person there is such a refreshing change of pace they tend to do well. A pretty girl that can actually act, wholly $hit, or even a not so pretty girl that can act, can go far.
But as my friend put it, LA is the land of lost souls, a flakiness that can't be understand, ask a person about how to get down the street, and they'll give you a metaphysical diatribe about how you just have to let your body feel the way.
I know all of LA is not this way, just that small little pocket of non-sense. So, I guess I can understand you don't want to be confused with that. I say move to the East Coast, where the billion dollar wall street tycoon will be sitting right next to you on the subway on his way to Manhattan and know one is none the wiser, better, yet, no one really cares. As they say, if you can make it there, you can make in anywhere, NY, NY.
So, yeah, i guess I can understand your gripe. LA has a bad rep, some of it warranted some not, and sjenner is just perpetuating the stereotype.

I jacked this from another webpage. It was posted by someone who has "S4cabrio" as a screen name. I agree with his assesment:
"THE A5/S5/RS5 DO NOT DIRECTLY COMPETE WITH ANY US-SOLD BMWS.
The A5 3.2 is NOT a 335i competitor. It is meant to compete with the Euro 330i coupe, which has very similar power and price. The S5 is above the 335i in price and performance, but below the M3 in both. The RS5 will be above the M3 in price, performance and exclusivity. There is just no "right" comparison when talking about the US models."

I agree with your post but you still didn't convince me on the reason why everyone here is comparing a more expensive Audi to a cheaper BMW? If we're allowed to compare a more expensive S5 to the cheaper 335, then why aren't we allowed to compare the more expensive 335 to the cheaper A5? This is confusing. The reality is that the A5/S5 doesn't have any direct BMW competitors in the U.S.
How can Audi build such a car for $60K? Lower the profit margin a little bit. Audi is still making money on these cars.

my point, was across the board, the Audi's car are better built. I will concede BMW will handle better, meaning they'll exhibit less understeer, as we all know physically power to 4 wheels will provide more traction.
But bottom line dude, I don't even care what you do or buy, buy the car that's right for you, you don't like the price of the A5 or S5 or any other Audi car, don't buy it, get the BMW, I'll buy what I want, you get what you want.

people see that side of LA when they visit because they stay in touristy places and go to chock-full-o'-douchebag areas like Rodeo Drive. In fact, I think the most shallow people here are the clueless East Coast / Midwest transplants trying to act "LA" (I grew up in NY, so I can say this).
LA is actually a very private city and you don't see much of what life is like when you visit.
