Default Are the windshield washers really heated?

10 degrees F today in Chicago. Car was parked since 8AM in an open parking lot. Windshield washers not working, but there is fluid and I can hear the pump. The headlamps washer works...

Are they heated?

I still have the fluid that came with the car (6 months old).... I guess will need to switch to a hardcore one...

may there is freezing in the lines to the windshield jets if the headlight washers work.

Although usually one will work and the other won't if it's a clogged nozzle.
The washers should work after the engine has warmed up. A six month old car is likely still under warranty anyway.

One other possibility is the washer pump is toast. There are two, one for the headlight and the other for the windshield.

It could be water/liquid from an external source (melting snow, rain, car wash) that has frozen over the nozzles. I have had this happen. If you are near an electric outlet, try a hair dryer on the nozzles to see if that helps. Many of the windshield washer fluids do freeze up in the real cold, especially if there is residual water in your fluid tank that would dilute the anti-freeze protection of the washer fluid.

After the car was in the garage for a while, they worked.
Today when I got out of work (open garage), they did not...

Will just have to use an anti-freeze at high concentration.
