I currently have audi a5 19inch stock sport wheels and tyre, 255/35/R19.
I am thinking about buying second hand winter tyre, however the size is 255/40/R19. I am planning to put it on my stock rims, do you think the 35 vs 40 size will cause any rubbing issues???
Thanks in advance.

Not a good idea. The only way to get a taller sidewall is to go with a smaller diameter wheel. So either stick with stock size of 255/35R19 on your stock 19" rims or get a set of 18" rims with 245/40R18 winter tires already mounted and balanced - that way you avoid paying a tire shop twice a year to change over tires, save the wear and tear on the stock rims, and can do the changeover yourself at your own convenience.

He can also go with a 225/45-18 winter tire for a little bit more sidewall. Done that for my S5.
Or, a 245/45-17 will also work on an A5. Had them for my 2010 A5, but couldn't use them on the S5, due to larger diameter brakes. Going on the A4 instead.

20 minutes for all 4? You guys are quick. I find that what takes the most time is checking the inflation after the wheels are mounted. I typically need to add 5 or so pounds of air into the tires and it takes my little 12V compressor several minutes to do the trick. And before storing the wheels that I've just taken off for the winter I like to wash them, then dry and wax them, so that's another 45 minutes least.
