Default Worst luck with my A5?

So I just want to see if I am just having bad luck or is the paint cheap on my A5? I baby my car like no other and it is garage kept at home and where I work. I've had my car for 30 days and I already have two chips on the paint on the hood.
Now the dealership I bought it from said they would repair the hood for free but I've own black cars before and never had this problem. I stay 3 car lengths behind any car and I stay away from semi's the best I can. I was speaking to one of the service guys in Audi and he said that maybe they forgot to put a protective guard on the paint? Does that exist?

Audi paint is hard but brittle. It has always chipped easily.

I think its happening with all makes and not just Audi. A girl where I work has a G35 coupe and its riddled with chips on the hood. I have heard owners of other brands having the same problems.

Many car brands have this same problem. It is not limited to Audi...

Lexus:

Infiniti:

I think this has to do with the newer, environmentally-friendly paints and possibly the rounder shape of the hoods on the more recent designs rather than paint quality.

Many times because people overtaking you cross back into the right lane very close in front of you (especially, it seems to me, tall SUV's and pickups) throwing up the road debris and this time of year salt/sand that naturally accumulates along the paint stripe separating the lanes. I hate when that happens; they should be well past you before coming back over, the hell with the car that might be coming up fast behind them.
People have no repsect for other people's property these days, including our cars.

Your not alone, I've had mine for about two weeks and only have 275 miles on it and I already have 2 chips. (It probably doesn't help that my front bumper cover has air bubles in the clear coat either- but those aren't the spots where the chips are).

I am going to get the 3M clear bra installed on the chin and the bikini cut hood section, I think a $600 investment isn't too much to help alleviate the "green" tree hugger paint being so rudely chippped off.
