From page 254 of the 2019 A5/S5/RS5 Owner's Manual:

System update
> Select: [MENU] button > Settings > left control
button > System maintenance.
System update: insert the storage device with
the update data into the appropriate drive
=> page 230. Select and confirm the drive >
Start update. The length of the process depends
on the size of the update.
Reset driver installation: the selected media
driver package is reset to the settings at the
time of delivery.
Version information: information on the MMI
software version and the navigation database*
software version is displayed. The Software in-
formation
function also provides information
on the software contained in the MMI and the
licensing agreement.

Back from the dealership and, as I’m finding after 30 months of Audi ownership, AoA and Audi couldn’t find a fire if the smoke detector was going off!

Long story short — if your MMI software is 1320, you’re screwed. After connecting my car to the Audi Mothership, Audi reports that TSB 2060681 / 1 is NOT compatible with 1320.

My SA said that since I was in on Tuesday, 2 additional customers have called to schedule their upgrade appointments for this TSB. She is preparing for a number of upset customers when they get the news! Glad I don’t work there.

Sorry to post up the disappointing news, but it is what it is!

So now we need a car with 1316 to try the same upgrade and see what they say.

I would call AoA and read them the letter that says your vehicle is eligible for a software update. I would think another fix for cars like yours will be coming.

And in your case most of the settings will already be in place except for turning the car into a WiFi client, which is switched off by default.
Having the car set up as a WiFi client is super useful for lots of reasons, not just this. And takes less than a minute to do on VCDS or ODBEleven. It's literally one Adaptation change.

As I said before to get the MMI to act as a WiFi client, you need to switch off the Data Module from the Connection Manager, Online settings. Then when you go to WiFi settings the client options will become selectable and you scan for your phone's Hotspot and connect to it.
I don't have an active Audi Connect subscription. I can try this adaptation change tomorrow and see, but I might need help on figuring out whether it's working, etc.

Okay, so I did the adaptation change, turned off the data manager, and tied my car to my phone in the wi fi settings. Now what? When I try to enable satellite map it tells me my trial subscription has expired; I don't see an option to grab data via smartphone/wi fi connection,.

Are you sure the car is using your phone's hotspot for it's data?
