Yeah, took 30 mins on my Gig connection, by the time it completes on slow a$$ LTE connection, the next map update will be out. Not to mention you cant get the full NA map set.

Anyone having trouble with this?
I get the download package (JNLP file), but when I attempt to open it I get a brief flash of another window opening/closing, and then that's it.
I downloaded Java and installed, and I've tried three different browsers.

I suggest starting a command window (CMD) with admin rights, moving to the directory that contains the downloaded JNLP file, and executing the file there.

I managed to figure it out and will be installing the update shortly.

Thanks

You should try and see if you can update your RS with the same USB to check if it is indeed VIN locked. I know someone checked the MD5 hashes and they were the same, but it would be interesting to see if it does any type of callback during the install.

The two vehicles may have different navigation systems, or different versions of it, and the data may be specific to the vehicle / navigation.

If you poke around in the update files, it appears to contain updates for multiple MMI versions with MIB1 and MIB2 folders. But I'd probably grab the update for the specific car anyway.

I’ll double check because now that we are talking about it I cannot recall if I was in the Q or RS page when I downloaded it...
