Default 2019 S5 Prestige vs 2023 S5 Premium Plus

Hi, all, I test drove a 2023 S5 premium plus today and really, really liked it.

The 2023 had the S sport package, the navigation package, and dynamic steering.

However, the MSRP on it was $68K and the dealer didn't seem too interested in negotiating.

It looks like CPO 2019 prestige models with under 30k miles can be had for less than $55K, which would be a pretty decent savings (20% or so).

Is there anything I would be missing by getting a 2019 prestige vs the 2023 premium plus? (For example, I think I need to get a 2019 prestige because the premium plus trim in 2019 didn't come with the surround camera.)

Keep in mind that S-Sport and dynamic steering are optional on Prestige as well

Yes, I'm aware. I'm making sure to look for the red brake calipers when looking at pictures online, since the S-Sport is a must have for me. I'm more flexible on the dynamic steering.

Also - if Im not mistaken - I believe carbon atlas inlays are standard on the 23 - where the 19 comes standard with the brushed aluminum. Also, 2023 is going to have round, heated steering wheel.. 2019 will be flat-bottom unless optioned with cold weather package - in which case it gets the round heated wheel..

There are a lot of subtle and not so subtle differences. One of the most obvious: the 2019 has a dial and no touch capability, while the 2023 had a noticeably larger center screen but touch only. The exteriors are pretty close from a design standpoint, but the standard grills are very different.

Once I drove a car with front and 360 cameras, I don't want one without it. But that's just my perspective.

2019 has real Homelink buttons.
2019 has foot activated tailgate motion.
2019 has dedicated fuel and temperature gauges.
2019 has phone box (signal booster and wireless charger).

IMO, 2019 was the apogee of Audi designs. Dieselgate related cost cutting hadn't started to impact production yet.

Oh yeah, I forgot the upper console redesign. The sunroof on the 2023 can't be opened independently of the shade, and the shade is opaque instead of lightly perforated as in the 2019. Again, personal preference depending on whether you want the added natural lighting through the sun shade and if you care about the shade always opening with the sunroof.

Here in FL, I frequently leave the shade closed when I open the sunroof, to enjoy the breeze and sounds but avoid the sun's full heat and glare on me.

Don't forget the nice matte material on the console replaced by piano black. The B9.5 is essentially the shrinkflation version of the B9.

One thing i would check is when was the 2019 made. Supposedly first half of 2019 suffer from the rockers issue. I would stay away from that especially with warranty running out.
