It probably was the full 40k miles service. Either way, expensive!

Here is a list of what I gathered is done at 40k miles: Brake fluid, dust & pollen filter, spark plugs, oil & filter change. I would also have them rotate the tires. I could see all of that adding up to $2300.

I have an 18 so yes. But mine has only 17K miles on it but the warranty has expired. This issue mildly worries me, but if i had a choice of buying one with potential issue, i would definitely not. Especially if you have to buy a $4K warranty as insurance.

Not me. There is a reason why dealerships are often referred as stealerships. It should be a $800.... those spark plugs are like $10 each...

That service at my dealer in MA (which I don't go to) would be around $1600. My dealer I do go to in NH would probably charge around $1200. My trusted independent mechanic would do that for probably $750. HAHA

So no, that should not be $2300 unless the dealer's hourly labor rate is well over $300 and they are also changing your blinker fluid and your muffler bearing(s)...

Agreed -- there is maybe $200-$300 in parts involved, and 2 - maybe 3 - hours of labor with all that. What the dealer will claim is the difference, is all the time they (supposedly) will spend on the "inspection" items of the service.

Well I'll continue to laugh at them since AudiCare pays for it. I'll probably be getting the service done sometime this summer or fall since it's hibernating. We'll see if the price changes at all or if I can get another price out of them.
