Thanks, I do remember you mentioning auditioning the 3 and using your family as test subjects.
Just didn't want to mess up the more expensive parts of the system.

Any impedance greater than the factory speakers is fine. Problems start when you drop in something lower than what you are replacing. For example, I wouldn't recommend trying the 4ohm versions of the 3FE22 in the dashboard corners. I doubt anything will blow up at this frequency range but it could start running warmer.
The real impedance issues are mainly in the subwoofer department. There you can do some serious damage to the amplifier if you run drivers lower than the minimum stability of that amplifier. AND remember most 2 channel amps will run at twice the minimum impedance in Bridged mode - a fact a lot of people miss and then wonder why they can smell their amps burning.

I have a 17 A4 and the sound system is not what I expected. Are you saying you have had luck just swapping out the speakers?
Can you list the exact speakers that you placed in your car. I may want to do the same.?

I have changed EVERY speaker in my non B&O car. 3 on the dashboard, 2 in the front doors, 4 in the rear doors, 1 subwoofer.
And the sound is absolutely fantastic.

I also just changed out the dash speakers from Bruce in my car and they sound so much better! Pretty amazing how much it increased the bass. The pics from kdagher were perfect! Thanks!

Ah great, I am glad you liked them too. Changing the purposes and the crossovers of those dashboard end speakers, coupled with a clearer sounding centre speaker makes such a massive difference. Those Faitalpro speakers are fantastic little things.

Bruce,
Which tweeter did you add to the center dash? Any problems involved?
Thanks.

I wouldn't bother adding a centre channel tweeter as the Faitalpro is a full range and actually covers the higher frequency range extremely well. Besides in the *** that channel isn't receiving much of the highs anyway.
But to answer your question, I actually used a B&O tweeter in that position because I was initially trying to improve the sound of the OEM driver, before discovering the fabulous Faitalpro.

Thanks.
I thought you had previously expressed that opinion, then I saw that you had added one and Bobby's spread sheet also shows one but I think I will opt for the third Faital Pro.
What did you ultimately choose for you doors?

The B&O actually has both a centre mid and a centre high, both independently and directly actively crossed over by the B&O amp. The *** in comparison only has a single channel. So put in the best single driver you can find.

My doors are complete.
