Did not know this, thanks for the tip!

Good to know - that's been on my VCDS "to do" list for awhile.

No, what's really too bad is that we can't replace the lap timer with a digital tachometer. Then I would be in heaven.

I wish they’d have put the turn signal lights in the heads-up display.

Totally agree, that would have been superb.

More than the turn signals, I think the blind spot indicators should be in the HUD.

Dredging up this thread . . . I finally got around to installing my Auto Hold kit yesterday and it works great. Typical to me, after installing the hardware and the Kufatec programming dongle (key word so far — AFTER) I followed the instructions on the Kufatec card, checked the Kufatec web site and found that there is an update for the dongle. In my case it took my SW version from 1.12 to 1.13.

I’ve requested a change log as to what the revision does but have not received a response.

If I get a response, I will post up what the change encompasses. Until then, I subscribe to the old adage , “if it ain’t broke — don’t fix it.” As to anyone else, YMMV.

How was the install effort and time-wise? This is high on my list, but I'm admittedly a little chicken about the wiring,

Watch the videos on removing the center console top CAREFULLY. The top bezel is removed as an assembly. The video calls this out. The other thing to carefully view is removing the hood release lever.

(1) I found the pictures in the instructions that you download are far too small and (imho) far too dark.

(2) The text is probably translated from German by a non-first English language person.

(3) There are a few steps that are not included — nothing major, but I found the documentation lacking. To this point, in my career I created disassembly, repair & re-assembly manuals for complex electro-mechanical devices and worked from “jinglish” documentation. That’s where I base my opinions.

This is more or less why I haven't made the leap. I swapped the rear tails on my Golf R for the Euro versions which required removing all sorts of trim and fishing a new harness through rubber hatch boots. It took me about 2 hours of work time, but there is a ton more video install support for that platform.
