B9 2018 S5 License Plate Bracket Removal
Hello, hope everyone is well! I recently purchased a new 2018 S5 Coupe. The car has a front license plate bracket and I want to remove it and replace it with a filler plate. Removing the T25 screws is painless, however I can't access the clips holding the bracket onto the grill of the car. Has anyone tried removing the bracket? Please let me know how to do so..I'm worried exerting too much force will damage the grill. Thanks in advance!

The 2 slots at the bottom, stick your finger in and push down, then it should come right off.
***You might push up, I've done it many times, I just forget if it is up or down, but not much force is required and it's easy to do.

I totally understand the OPs struggle..
I managed to get on clip off easily enough, but the driver's side is being a bish... I put off removal for now. Plus I don't have a filler plate so it looks 'better' with the goofy front plate bracket on for now.

Tried using the recommended strategy and no luck! Even tried reaching for the clips but there's no space..annoying. If anyone is planning on removing it and can record/post pics of the process that'd be appreciated!

My dealer said he'll remove the front place holder for me when my plates come in and I go to pick them up. I really hope they realize it needs the filler plate, I'm not driving around with empty bracket!
