Default B9 (B9.0) vs B9.5

I see references to B9.5 here in the forum.

What exactly does B9.5 mean ? Which models or years are those?

I also notice there is no actual sub-forum for that.

It just means the 9th generation mid-cycle refresh (2020+ models).

Or facelift version!
B9.5 is the facelift

As with B8 and B8.5. B8 was the pre-facelift and B8.5 the facelift.

I do find the 0.5 unofficial nomenclature better than BMW's LCI reference. However when you read the door edge sticker of your B9 car and realise that Audi still refers to it as the B8, your head starts to ache a bit. Finding any parts for Audi on eBay as a result is a real nightmare. Do you search for B9 or 8W or F5?

Really. Especially between the latter two. I mean, which is it, Audi?

Just to add to the confusion in the repair manuals, Audi refers to the B9 A4s as 8W - 8W2/8WC, 8W5/8WD, and 8WH. and the B9 A5s are called F5 - F53, F57 and F5A

Audi A4/ S4 / RS4 (B9): 8W2/8WC
Audi A4 Avant (B9): 8W5/8WD
Audi A4 Allroad (B9): 8WH

Audi A5 / S5 / RS5 Coupe (B9): F53
Audi A5 / S5 Cabriolet (B9): F57
Audi A5 / S5 Sportback (B9): F5A

B9.5 is the mid year refresh of the B9 generation. They updated a little bit of the interior(Removal of MMI ****, bigger MMI screen) and a few things on the exterior(Lights and bumpers) of the car to keep the car fresh and modern.

I heard the b9.5 also removed the 2 SD card slots in the glove box.

Well then, sounds like if it has MIB3 MMI (with touch only) it's B9.5 ?

Yeah, in my 2021-A5 ... there is still a box-looking thing in the top of the glove-box ... but nothing is installed in it. Just a blank front-plate with no SD-Card slots, no USB, no CD-Player.
If it's stuff like this that defines B9.5 ... I would be tempted to include 16v-MHEV . Oh wait, S5 doesn't have that does it (so that doesn't work-out).

So where would you add an external SIM card then in a B9.5?
