B9 / B9.5 Tuning Experiences with EPL? Others? (Good, Bad, or In-between)

Ok folks, after waiting for the 9.5 tune from 034 that I purchased back in July…I’m starting my research to consider the alternatives. I understand their “might” be issues with IE’s ability to flash a tune on the 9.5 as well. Makes me wonder how EPL (& others-?) is(are) successful. Any insights from this forum would be greatly appreciated.

I'm considering getting the tune as well for my 21 S5SB. Rogos, did you get it?
Also, did anyone get the tcu tune? What are your thoughts? I read the thread on AZ, not sure I fully understand exactly what the tcu tune is doing.

But to answer your question: I'd describe the EPL tune as OEM-. Meaning it's about what the stock gave you as far as popping and crackling, maybe a hair less. I believe IE is around where EPL is--they keep it at about stock as far as the sound. People have been asking for EPL to create a "crackle" file for some time now and they've resisted. I sense that they're more interested in performance and reliability and aren't trying to get business from people who just want their car to sound the loudest. If you want an example of a tuner going in the opposite direction, check out how 034's tune sounds (there's a video in that other thread I linked) since they issued their revision 2. It makes the car sound like a machine gun. Not for me.
