B9 RS5 Sport Exhaust Question

Yes, they both are. I'm assuming the difference is the way the exhaust is routed within the mufflers. I know the TTRS, RS3, and RS6/7 twins have different exhaust routing in the mufflers for the sport exhaust vs. the regular exhaust.

There is a change on the internal construction of the exhaust with the sport exhaust system, mostly focused on the center section (resonator). It is not just marketing or black exhaust tips, but an actual hardware difference.

Of course all factory exhaust systems have to contend to the same noise regulations, so it's not that there is a dB difference between standard and sport, but rather throatiness and tone of the exhaust note. There is no power difference or emissions difference between the two systems, either.

Plus black tips are much easier to clean than chrome ones if you don't get the dynamic package
