Hmmm, well in that case I would not change the height of the sensor. The sensors are calibrated to detect things all the way to the groun (curbs) and if you move them up you could lose some functionality.
I bought from this buyer and will be receiving the grill soon. Not sure why he would even use Quattrings picture when that is an example of an install that did not have the sensors in place. I spoke with the seller and they said that they did test it in China and it worked (those are the pictures with the white A5). We will see though... the notches look to be in the exact same position as the grills you guys purchased so I do not have high hopes.
Man, you're telling me... How did they get that pic? I wonder if they are scouring our Audiworld personal Galleries. I sure didn't provide it to them to use it.
What;s even more crazy is that I didn't even purchase it from that guy - lol

Don't feel bad, some dude has been using a pic of my '07 FJ to sell air dam roof lights for 10 years. I didn't buy it from him (I purchased thru a Toyota dealership not eBay).
WOW, I guess that's how it works on eBay You're right though, cyberspace changes the rules. I noticed that just typing "2018 Audi S5 grill" comes up with a bunch of our cars on Google... Kind of interesting.
lol try googling "Navarra Blue S5", the first 3 pics that show up are of my previous car.
LOL It is crazy isn't it - gotta love today's search engines that spider the whole Internet so thoroughly.
I finally got the sensors figured out and my grill is officially done. Its not a solution that I think anyone will want to do though.... sort of a Frankenstein concoction - and since I now had 4 sensors.... I have some pics of the cutting and operation - it got messy. End result turned out pretty well though.

searched in internet and found the latest version for B9. Any comment? will it fit perfectly on A5 ?
Unfortunately, whoever has actually fabricated the grill just got it wrong in terms of sensor positioning. You can see what happened when comparing the knock-off to the real thing - the fabricator asked how high the sensor was, the reply was the second row up from the bottom. Wrong bottom though
The Chinese cars, and the A5 in China is not locally built AFAIK, has the same sensor position and the same crash bar as every other A5/S5/RS5. They should have pulled the item from sale, but the issue is there are probably several layers of middlemen and half of them probably don't even know there is a fitment issue. Whether the photo shown of the white A5 is actually using parking sensors or just a plug that looks like a sensor is hard to tell.
You can also see, when comparing the OEM RS5 grill to the replica, that they found it too difficult to continue the large honeycomb section all the way down, as it curves in. So they added that smaller section below, which is actually straight and not curved.
Personally, I would try to fabricate a bracket to hold the sensor in the grill, rather than cutting into the crash bar. Although it looks like the correct location may be right where the horizontal bar is on the grill. I suspect there is a degree of tolerance with the position of the parking sensors, and calibration is less of an issue than it is with the high powered sensors in the DAP and the top camera (not front parking camera).
