i actually prefer the S5 grill on the S5. RS5 looks good partly because of the bumper and headlight filler thingy on the ends
guess audi is trying too much as well since the refreshed S5 will have honey comb grill lol.

And that is why Ice Cream comes in more flavors than just vanilla. When I bought my S5 my biggest disappointment was that original grille. When I stumbled on this thread, I instantly wanted this grille: not to make it look like an RS, just to rid it of that original grille.

If you look at my pictures, you’ll notice that I put my Factory S5 Logo back on the new grille. I’m not trying to “pose” my car as something it isn’t / I’m just adding a grille that I find much more attractive.

This is just my opinion and, as always, YMMV.

The grill swap is a simple task for any body shop. You just need to find one with a solid reputation offering a fair price. I had mine done for $150 that included painting the crash bar. Good luck.

hi everyone,

so what is the best product to get? I am confused as I read through the thread and there are quite few posts pointing to issues. My car has a front camera, what is the deal with that?

I found an ebay seller selling grille with the camera mount https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/292312671583

is this the right one to get? Does it all look and feel solid? Would hate to get something that is looking cheap and breaks or plastic goes brittle from heat (I live in Australia). I like one with the quattro writing and also needs a license plate holder as thats required here in AU.

thanks

All the grills from China are good quality. There are two versions (your selection is Version 1).

Version 1 (two size hex opening) will need to have the parking sensors replaced with angled ones to clear the crash bar behind them. There is no off the shelf camera mount that I’ve seen that’s been confirmed to align the camera perfectly.

Version 2 (all same size hex openings) uses the factory parking sensors. For the camera mount, a 3D printer file has been created to make one and it works perfectly. You should be able get this grill from China for $225 - $250. See this thread (and the thread it also refers to in post #1) for complete information:

I did the version 2 (from China) and had the camera mount 3D printed. All was easy, with perfect fit and alignment. It comes with a euro size license plate bracket.

I’m on the US ebay site and I just search for “Audi S5 grill 2018.” Sort by price and you’ll start seeing them at about USD220.

Here are some:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/FOR-AUDI-A5...cAAOSwictd15nW

https://www.ebay.com/itm/FOR-AUDI-A5...0AAOSwnCtdhtV~

https://www.ebay.com/itm/FOR-AUDI-A5...oAAOSw9ltd15tj

I saw twenty more further down. You will have to select which black or silver combinations. And of course look at the seller reputation. A few were listed in the threads mentioned above.
