Default B9 S5 Rear Diffuser Removal

Has anyone tackled this and can share some insight on how to go about doing it? Someone told me I had to remove the tail lights to remove the diffuser but in my head that doesn't make sense.

Watched a vid a bit ago on replacing the exhaust tips on an A5 SB. Likely similar process for S5, and yes, the taillights did come off.

This is a 2022, I think the B9s might be different

A 2022 is a B9. You mean B9.0 are different, and that's true. youtu.be/1KunQhwmR5s

Never seen it written that way, only B9 and B9.5 - but thanks for teaching me something!

Yeah I've typically seen B9 to refer to all cars of the current generation with B9.0 specifically referring to pre-refresh, but not everybody shares the same lingo, no big deal.

You'll see it both ways. One system is specifically clear, one system enables ambiguity. Saw the same thing in software versioning before running into people doing it here.

damn all that to replace the exhaust tips lol. i guess the taillights being out basically was because this was the rear bumper removal, not just the diffuser. i assume the diffuser can come off on it's own, it may be easier on an S5 because our diffuser is slightly different and is not enclosed at the bottom with the fake tips, so i think theres a few screws near the bottom and the rest are just clips that pop out. i know on the B8 it was like that but not really sure for B9/B9.5, never really checked mine but i'd just inspect under the rear and see, might have access to see and release the clips behind the wheel liners, without having to remove the whole bumper and all that.

EDIT: i just realized SMac posted the same video above but yea i was just watching this, seems pretty easy like i figured -
