Default Check engine light. Code P04F0

I was accelerating up a hill when I had the amber check engine light come on. No MMI messages, drives fine still. The code on my reader shows P04F0. Anyone know what that means? I have no choice but to drive my car for the next two days until I can get an appointment with service

That's a generic code. See if you can get the actual code from something like OBD Eleven. It could be electrical related or EVAP related.

Autozone (and probably others) will read the code for free. They might get you better info.

I have an RS5 with only 8K miles, the check engine light came on the day after my very first service. Dealer said it was the EVAP System High Pressure Purge Line NVLD switch was bad, Any thoughts?

Let them fix it and keep the repair orders in a file should something “related” happen in the future.

Our cars are extremely complex devices with so many interconnected systems — both physical and electronics and things break or malfunction from time to time. What’s most important is how your dealer / Audi handles them.

Did you figure out the issue?

I consistently have the same issue. On acceleration and in the 6600-6700 RPM band the error light will throw. The dealer initially said a cylinder 1 misfire but it has been in the shop a total of five times and the latest is now over three weeks. A technical area manger who works for AOA has been out but has not been able to fix the issue. I’ve requested AOA to replace the vehicle.

I would document everything. It sounds like the same issue.

Was this ever resolved?

Yes. Audi had to buy back the vehicle as I hired an attorney. A very sour situation.
