Thanks for the feedback all. Have booked into my preferred dealership (had a bad experience with my nearest dealer) before warranty expires, they confirmed as long as they can diagnose it before expiry it'll be covered. Will update once diagnosed.

Yes I've heard there is some coolant consumption in general with these motors...in fact looking at the previous owners service history there was a report of low coolant alarm. Dealer inspected, pressure tested with no leaks and said "likely due to evaporation". Just doesn't really make sense to me being a closed pressurized system 🤷‍♂️

These cars do evaporate a significant amount of coolant. My 2019 S5 needed a few hundred mL of coolant per year (same with my B8). I first noticed that the coolant was almost 1L low when the car was almost two years old. The car came back clean when it was tested for a leak at the dealer and I never noticed any coolant leaking onto the garage floor.

As the B9/B9.5 all come with pretty largish under engine coverings, it's quite possible coolant is leaking but nothing shows up on a garage floor. Use of a bright light from above and, then even better, up on a hoist with the engine coverings removed is really the only way to properly see any signs of coolant residue.

Hey all, thought I'd update the thread now the repair was completed by the dealer under warranty.

Issue turned out to be the Coolant Shut Off Valve - https://www.genuineaudiparts.com/oem...121678h?c=az0x

Nice that is was fixed at “N/C” under warranty. Maybe I missed it but how many miles do you have on your car?

Almost 30k miles and a relatively easy fix. Not too bad, could have been way worse I guess.
