Default Coolant Light at 20,000 Miles

On my drive to work today the coolant light came on. Im not sure about Audis' but on my other cars I have had were all closed systems which meant it shouldn't really ever need coolant. I feel like 19,4XX miles is too new for this to happen. Should I call the dealer or just fill it with coolant? If I just need to fill it, which coolant is recommended?
Thanks

Take it to the dealer.

Coolant is G12 Evo which replace G13.

Regardless of what anyone says, the S5 consumes a noticeable amount of coolant, especially in hot weather. Many people here needed to add after even fewer miles.

4½ years and nearly 50,000 miles in my MY19 RS5-SB, and I had to top off my coolant almost exactly a year ago. Just once - never before, never since.

Of all the VWAG cars that I've owned over the years (10+ cars), they all use a little coolant, some more, some less. I make it a habit to check every time I open the hood for something.

Regardless of what anyone says, the S5 should not consume a noticeable amount of coolant - no matter the weather. Take it to the dealer for inspection.

I sold my S5, so it's a moot point, but you're incorrect. I had my S5 checked by the dealer when the coolant was low, and there were no leaks. My B8 A4 similarly needed coolant topped off every 1-1.5 years and it never had a problem outside of the systemic issues associated with the B8 platform over eight years. Coolant evaporation is more severe in very high temperatures, such as where I live.

I’m not getting into the dispute about low coolant or not! I will point you to what was recommended for coolant refill on my 2018 S5:

I bought this almost 3 years ago and have never even cracked it open. Possibly the dealer has added fluid when it’s time for the yearly oil change — I just know that I’ve never seen a low coolant warning light.

Careful -- while that is fine for some of the 2018s, which came factory filled with G13 (later in the production run they switched to G12evo), the 2021 comes factory filled with G12evo, and Audi only recommends G12evo be used to top it off. G12evo is the safe choice regardless of year, as it is backwards compatible with the previous fills -- but not the other way around.
