Hey everyone, I知 looking to get a 2020 S5 but I知 having such a hard time between getting the mythos metallic black or the Daytona grey colour. I値l be getting the black optics package so everything will be blacked out. Anyone have pictures of their cars they could share and would love to hear your opinions on either colour.
I've owned black cars. I love black cars. Unfortunately a black car looks dirty again by the next day after a wash. Just looking at it wrong will cause swirl marks. Where I am in my life I just don't have the time to maintain a black car. Daytona Grey works for me very well. A weekly wash quarterly wax works great. Swirls are nowhere near as noticeable (except on the black parts ) and much easier to deal with.
To me nothing looks better on the road than a clean black car. It's just more work than I want to commit to today.
I think both colors have their advantages and disadvantages depending on the condition of the car and the lighting that the car is in. I am not telling you something new that you don't already know about the colors, but each of them look so different in the right conditions. I love the Mythos Black Metallic when it is clean and looking good. However when it is raining or after the road grime from a road trip it looses the luster and the lines of the car just tend to blend in. The Daytona Grey is the same for me, but it hides the dirt better and shows the lines of the car in more lighting conditions. The Mythos Black to me looks better all murdered out or blacked out (if you are going for that look). The carbon fiber has a bit more contrast against the black if you have the carbon fiber package. To me the carbon fiber with the Daytona Grey looses some of its contrast of the items that are carbon fiber next to the Daytona Grey, because the colors are so similar to each other. I don't think you can go wrong with either color because they both look great!!! Good luck!
