This is the issue in Maryland, where the power required to replace two coal plants closing in 2028 has to come from new sources. The wind farm that is supposed to replace them hasn't even finished underwater surveys, so that wont be available in 2028. The power has to come from outside of MD and the NIMBY fight over the location of new power lines has already started before anyone even knows where the lines are proposed to go. Just that they're coming south out of central PA. What a **** show.
