Key fob battery warning won't go away

A cool feature of the unit is that it has a self test of the 4 internal AA batteries. When testing a battery if the first two LED's blink alternatively, the (10% and 20%) it's time to replace the unit's batteries. i thought this was a clever addition to the unit.

UPDATE: I changed the batteries in both of my Audi fobs in January of 2023. About a week ago I thought I would test them 13 months later. In those 13 months I have had zero issues with unlocking / starting my S5.

To my surprise, when I checked them 2 weeks ago on the MBT-1 load tester, they both showed the maximum number of LEDs illuminated (6). I’ll try to remember to test them in June — which would be 18 months since they were installed.
