Default LED interior lighting plus package

I have a 2021 A5 SB Prestige which includes the LED interior lighting plus package. In the MMI, when choosing the color options, it also gives you the option turn on/off the footwell lighting. When the footwell lighting is on, the only color it illuminates in is white. Does anyone know if that's the way its supposed to work or should it change colors along with the other ambient lighting? Is there some setting I'm overlooking?

Are you sure that's not the B&O speaker lighting you see? It stays white even if you change the other interior lighting.

My 2019 a5 sb footwear lights up whatever color I choose. However it didn't seem to immediately respond to my settings and was reluctant to go light purple.

In my MMI it's under interior lighting > individual > and then I have my surface and line lighting set to the same color.

As the other poster noted, are you seeing the speaker line? That does stay white.

I was aware that the B&O light stays white but the footwell lighting is staying white as well. I added some pictures for reference. I have the lines set to red and surfaces set to blue, full brightness. On the MMI screen you can see the footwell light stays white also.

If you don't like the white BO light (no one does) you can code it OFF with OBD-Eleven quite easily. Or if you're handy with minor tools and removing door cards you can replace the while light with one that will change with the other lights.

My '20 A5 SB Prestige also has white footwell lights despite color on the doors, etc.

Yes, for the B9.5 update Audi removed the ability to change the color of the footwell lights. They stay white all the time.

In this case, I wonder if it was either a ”cost cutting” move or something to do with the electronics shortage the world is seeing now?

Yet another (small) reason I’m glad I bought the 2018 S5!

Is it possible to change out the footwell light with the color one, or is it more involved than just swapping a light?

I’m guessing cost cutting as it started with the 2020 models which were released in the fall of 2019.
