The stinking Audi plate frame strikes again. Mine is busted too - broke out one of the screw retaining nuts trying to remove a screw which cracked the plastic. Replacements are >$100; it's not as much the money as how much they charge for something that will eventually be a problem again.

I'm thinking about trying to fabricate something that uses the existing screw holes that doesn't involve a universal mount that will also need to be modified.

Audi could definitely do better here.
