[QUOTE=abiley84;25502374]Mine arrived today. I had to break off one tab on the cover for it to fit. There's a tab on the inner side that doesn't go into any hole on the car. (edit, after reviewing the S5 from OPs post, looks like the A5 body from doesn't have that hole.)
No big deal. It has those plastic attachment tabs that will all break anyway if you ever remove the cover. Double sided 3M Industrial Strength Tape will be your salvation!

It holds good without it anyways in my opinion. This definitely should have come with the car.
No — If you open your doors, you will see a red reflector on the vertical edge of the inner door panel. This was an illuminated red light in past models. There was a member selling a kit that allowed you to remove the reflectors, install an illuminated red replacement panel, with a wiring adapter that connects to your existing puddle light.
This was the kit he was selling. Works great and a breeze to install.
My side covers arrived and are installed. With one modification..... Look at DadsRS "before" picture in post #1. To the upper left of the red battery post there are two bolts in the silver sheet metal with a hole between them. My S5 has no such hole. That's where one of the side panel posts pushes in. No matter - two 9/64" holes drilled in place with some paint to seal them. All done. Wife super approved (she's getting lots of press lately).
Interesting solution. Most folks just cut or snap off the extra tab.

So, what is your build date? Apparently sometime during the 2019 model year they changed things, because I expected to have to trim the tab too, but I did not. Everything lined up and snapped into place for me with no modifications to the new side covers.

My build was May 2017. It was the first S5 at the dealer. Far from me being the guy who needs the newest and shiniest, I ordered it immediately after my B5 S4 burned in a shop fire.
Drilling and touching up a couple holes only took a few minutes. I wasn’t sure how well it would hold without that tab.

Not sure on my build date, but it was one of the first 2019s on the lot, arrived at dealer December 2018, then I purchased February 2019
