Default Phantom rev up

Do you guys notice sometimes when you're cruising on the highway and slightly step on the gas pedal the car somehow thinks you want to downshift and rev to like 4K rpm for no reasons? It happens very rarely.

I've logged over 3k miles on the expressway, never had that. I'm always in D when on the expressway. Usually the cruise control is on, when traffic allows, but that's about 50% of the time on my trips. Since a lot of it is 2-lane, I'll drop to S when forced to make an aggressive pass for those who think going 5 mph below the speed limit in the left lane is fun.

6300 miles and have never experience that. What mode are you driving at?

D mode. It happened again today on the highway. I lightly tapped the gas and it downshifted and was revving at around 4K for no particular reason. Granted I was driving pretty hard prior to that so maybe the engine learned that I wanted to be in sporty mode and downshifted even though I only lightly touched the pedal?

So it's happened again and again. I'm driving in D mode going about 60 mph in 8th gear (at about 1.5K RPM) and very softly presses the pedal to increase speed, and all of a sudden it downshifts to 5th gear and revs it up to 4.5K. I just don't get it. Is this normal? I hate to take it back to the dealer because they can't possibly reproduce this in their 10 minutes test drive.

I think you need to move your dash cam to capture your actual dash prior to bringing it in for that.

What you've described has happened to me exactly. It tends to only occur for me in dynamic mode, so for the time being I swap out modes on the downhills. If it starts occurring across modes, definitely warrants a checkup.

When you say Dynamic mode do you mean S mode?
