Picture of my 2018 Audi A5 Cabriolet after getting the "Aunt Jemima" cleaning treatment. Used Chemical Guys (CG) foam blaster to wash then a coat of Jet Seal followed by some Fuzion wax and CG signature series glass cleaner.
I vinyl wrapped the chrome slats on the grill this weekend (until a good RS grille comes out that supports DAP and camera) and plastidipped the side fender badges a few weeks ago.

Looks very good. I've been thinking about having the whole blackout treatment done. I'm not brave enough (or talented enough) to do it myself.

I'm not going to do the chrome around the windows, around the grille, or the pieces below the grille. I may do carbon fiber mirror caps in the future and call it done after that.
Vinyl and plastidip are good and reversible ways of seeing how you like it. It's fairly safe, but it can be a challenge to get it looking just right. I wouldn't worry too much about causing permanent damage to the car. The vinyl job I did on the grille is 'good enough for now', but I may re-do parts or opt for a grille replacement in the future.
