Looks similar to the front of my car on a run to the South Jersey beaches — and that’s only about 45 miles each way. For me, the worst is the windshield but the bug carcasses come off that pretty easily.
700 miles or so during summer generates a mess up front!
Bugs!
A few years ago a guy was driving his new M2 home several hundred miles during the summer and did this to protect from bugs and stuff...I wonder how long it took to cover the car with painters tape? Hid did do a good job!
On the bright side, imagine if you had a honeycomb grille. I'm always surprised to see how my stock grille is relatively easy to clean.
When I installed my RS-style grille the first stop was the detailer to get the grille ceramic coated. All it usually takes is a blast of water (not even a power washer connected to my air compressor) to blow them out. Once in awhile there will be a B42 sized bug in there but some direct pressure and then a microfiber towel and I’ve committed the perfect murder and no body parts found.
Detailing tip here: Getting bug guts off the front even if baked on is easy. Take a little wet toilet paper, stick it on the dead bug guts, come back 10 minutes later and wipe the bug guts off with the wet toilet paper, no scrubbing or scratches introduced to your finish. Works better than any bug removal chemicals I've ever seen!
