RS5 Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)
I bought a new 2019 RS5 in March of this year. I drive a lot of highway miles each month. Last month at 7,500 miles, the Malfunction Indicator Lamp came on when I started the car one morning. Took it to the Audi dealer and they thought the light was caused by the wastegate issue. They updated the software that is supposed to fix this issue. For some reason the software update didn't fix the issue and the dealer said the light would come on again. They discussed this issue with Audi and Audi doesn't have a reason why. Audi said the car was safe to drive and released the car back to me. This morning, at 8,500 miles the light came on again at startup.
For those that own this car, can you reply and let me know one of the following:
1. Never had the light come on.
2. Light came on but software update fixed the issue.
3. Light came on, software updated didn't fix the issue, and still have no resolution to the issue.
Thanks for any feedback.

Mine came on less than 2 weeks old, less than 1,000 km. Tech scanned it, reset it, and told me about the 'known phantom' waste gate CEL. No software update was done, or even mentioned. He said to to bring it back if it ever came on again. 1 year and 12,000 km later and it hasn't yet. Touch wood!

Light came on a few weeks ago at about 17K on my '18 RS5. Was in MN so made an appointment to stop at dealer in Fargo on way home. Light was on for three days, car ran fine. By the time I got to dealer light went out. Tech checked it and said "sometimes it fixes itself". Only issue with this car since new, and turned out to be a non-issue.

Thanks for the replies. The CEL/MIL light was on for 3 days and this morning it was off. I might still take it in for them to look at.

My light came on after 402 miles. It has been a disaster from day one. Cylinder one misfire. it's been in the shop 4 times for the same issue. If you are getting the error light I would encourage you to take it in for documentation purposes.
