S5 in A5 colors? Audi Exclusive? (Manhattan Gray)
Hi all.
I searched and couldn't find a direct answer anywhere. I really like the look of Manhattan Gray, and I'm considering an S5 SB. Do you think this would require the upcharge to Audi Exclusive paint, when you consider the color is available as a base option for the A5?
If nobody knows I'll ping my local dealer and see what they say. As you all know, some dealers will give bad info anyways, so I'd rather hear from you folks first.
Cheers!

Yes, I'm sure it will be considered an Exclusive colour for a US car. The decision is made by Audi AG. There will be some production delay, but not too much as Manhattan is available on the S5 Sportback in other markets. And I don't think the North American S5 models are built on a dedicated production line, as is the A4/S4, which would have caused further delays.
Whilst I understand your logic, the A5 and S5 do not have identical body parts. I had the same issue with an S5 cabriolet we are ordering, the delay is more significant as the selected A5 colour is not available on the S5 in any market, and the factory was not able to do it until after the August shutdown period (and the current issues with S4/S5 production). The factory did try hard to accommodate me, and offered some alternatives based on special runs they were doing, but none were quite right, so we're waiting.
I like the S5 Sportback in Manhattan Grey, but what sealed it for me was being able to order it with black optics. With the bright trim, I may have gone with Daytona. But these are personal decisions.
