Summer Tires for Seattle Winter?
I've ordered the S5 with summer tires, and I am wondering how the tires would fare for Seattle's weather. It rarely snows, but ice does form on the roads. Do you guys think I should probably get All Season tires for Seattle's weather?

How is this even a question? Yes. All seasons at a minimum. If you have dedicated summers, you might as well get dedicated winters.
Below 40F summers are basically useless.

Too many hills around Seattle area and the summer tires are completely useless at freezing. It will be like driving on ice skating ring. Either switch them out with all season, or get a dedicated winter setup. I had to go through the same decision making process too.

I ordered a dedicated set of winter tires already mounted and balanced on rims from Tire Rack. As others have pointed out, once the temp gets below 45F, the traction on the Summer tires can get really dicey. I will be putting on the Winter set here in a few weeks and then running those through the Winter until we consistently get above 50F.

They actually don’t take up too much space. If you have a storage closet in your apartment, they should fit. I doubt either local dealerships would offer to store them for you. But there are plenty of local storage facilities around the area. Good luck!

I probably will replace the summer tires with Michelin Pilot Sport AS. The only reason I'm not going with Audi's stock AS tires, is because they put in crappy H rated tires and also lower the top speed limiter to 130. Extra 1K expenditure, I guess.

unless you are taking the car to a track, 130, 150.. you will not going to hit that.
